The new DEA Production Facility

The new DEA Production Facility

DEA Italian Worklab has built its new industrial facility.
A genuine technological gem for the production of Made in Italy design furnishings dedicated to the manufacturing and automotive sector has been created.

Let’s discover together how DEA follows all processing stages in-house: from the sourcing of raw materials to make its furnishing modules to the final packaging.

The idea of a production facility in Italy

A winning undertaking always comes from an idea, and behind an idea there is always the commitment and total dedication of an entrepreneur.

After having noticed the global difficulty in finding raw materials for the manufacturing sector, two years ago, in the very midst of the pandemic, CEO and Chairman of DEA Italian Worklab Lino Di Betta imagined that the creation of a new modern and advanced production facility would have strengthened a company already unique in the production of Made in Italy technical furnishings for industry and workshops.

Creating an industrial facility means being able to follow all phases of the production process:

  • Locating raw materials
  • Cutting
  • Welding
  • Bending
  • Painting
  • Assembly
  • Packaging

Following these steps are transportation, installation and final commissioning of the set-up, which have always distinguished DEA’s “turn-key” set-up service.

DEA’s objective has always been to offer the best possible service to its customers, without leaving anything to chance. With the completion of the new production facility we have perfected our offer to the public even more.

Where to build the new production facility?

Planning the building of an industrial furnishings facility means relying on the know-how of engineers specialized in furniture production

So there was the need to establish an advanced production center in an area where the specialists in making and assembling furniture were to be found.

The Marches region in Central Italy is considered the Made in Italy furniture district, and according to DEA, this was the most opportune place to establish its new production facility and rely on the experience of local expert engineers.

And that was what happened. DEA laid the foundation of its new production facility in Fano, in the province of Pesaro-Urbino situated in the Marches region, and called in the leading local experts in making furnishings specific for industry and the automotive sector.

Government incentives

The decision to build an automated production plant was assisted by the support of the Italian government to purchase machinery technologically advanced according to the principles of Industry 4.0.

All machinery dedicated to the production of DEA furnishing modules is controlled by computerized systems that are interconnected to exchange information with the company’s in-house IT systems through standard international protocols (ref. Circular No. 4/E dated 3/30/2017).

How long it took to build the new industrial facility

DEA saw its industrial facility go up in just 3 months:

  • 15,000 sq.m of plant surface area
  • Warehouse with a wide assortment of raw materials
  • Cutting area, bending area and welding area
  • 1 powder painting system (20 minutes per finished piece!)
  • 3 assembly lines
  • 1 line for final packaging

After recovering and upgrading a few dismantled sheds, following the recovery principles of the circular economy, DEA built its new facility in record time, and started up production at the new site just as quickly.
